DIY
When we go shopping, we often pass by stores with accessories, cute decorations, or nails that we would like to have but just can’t. We either have no money or the item costs too much. As many of you have noticed the economy is plummeting downwards and everything is getting more expensive. There are alternatives to get what you want and that is to Do It Yourself or DIY for short. You will not only be saving money, but you will also be getting experience and skills along with the feeling of accomplishment by doing it yourself. I think that the best part of this that anyone can do this. Whether they are rich or poor if you have the tools, then you can make anything you want.
As we all know, IKEA is a mega store filled with DIY decorations and they provide the materials to you. In the southern city of Potenza in Italy, Italian archaeologists found an “ancient IKEA building” and they estimate that is was built around the 6th century BC. Chistopher Smith, director of the British school at Rome says “’…It looks as if someone was instructing others how to mass-produce components and put them together in this way ‘”. The phrase "do it yourself" came into common usage in the 1950s’” and it was typically for people who do home improvement project but it is now commonly used for almost anything. In the 1970s it was gaining popularity from college students, as they wanted to make things that they can afford.
When you have no money for some accessories or if you want something unique, you can make them from household items like old fabric, broken jewelry, string and some beads. But DIY doesn’t just apply to decorations and nails it could be even more. It could be the littlest thing like making a bow to making a house. As a result many DIY websites appeared like craftingagreenworld.com. This website has tons of fun projects that you can make using old and recycled items to create amazing gifts. Plus, it saves the environment!
